1. Be ready! Keep your camera on your wrist, in your pocket, or around your neck. You'll catch more memorable moments. Protect your camera from runaway cups of coffee.
2. Take lots and lots of photographs. Increase your chances to capture an excellent hockey shot! Delete later.
3. Try turning off your flash to avoid flare from the glass in the hockey arena.

4. Move around the arena. Shoot from different areas and angles. Change your angle and change your results.
5. Zoom in nice and tight on the players! Try photographing just their faces. Get shots of the celebration and action after a goal.
6. Focus on the bench next! Shoot pictures of the coaches, players, and managers when they are cheering!
A Photography Gift. Photograph the coaches and managers cheering over the course of a few or many games. Keep your project a secret.
At the end of the season, review all of your photos. Pick the most energetic one, have it printed and paste it into a Hockey Spirit calendar. Put a copy of the team photo on the same page. Ask each of the kids to sign their name in the area provided. You will be creating a truly unique hockey gift for your team staff this season.
